How we supported the reimagining of Rayners Penn

A stunning historic building in the heart of Penn, Buckinghamshire, Rayners was originally built as a country house, in 1847. In 1920 it became a school for deaf children, before falling into disrepair. Now, an ambitious plan to restore it to its former glory is underway, reimagining Rayners Penn as a luxurious boutique hotel, restaurant, cookery school and spa.

To support the project, we undertook a full branding exercise, developing a brand strategy that would reflect the lofty goals of its new owners, throughout the planning process and beyond. Our work included the design of a logo inspired directly by the sandstone ornamentation seen on the building’s exterior, reflecting its heritage as well as the new brand’s forward-looking values.

We then designed a website that would leave local government, journalists and interested members of the public in no doubt that the renovation is a live project, with goals and deadline. In short, that Rayners Penn is not just a dream.
